Newborn photography is a specialist form of portraiture, capturing those first few days of life. Typically my newborn studio sessions are held when baby is between 5 and 20 days old. It is best to book while you are still pregnant, as I only book a limited number of sessions per month to ensure I have flexibility when babies decide to arrive! Part of the beauty of newborn photography is that young babies are both very sleepy and love to curl up as they did in the womb. When baby is a bit older, even as little as three weeks, they are more alert and continually developing and exploring their new muscles. While this curiosity and stretching can be a joy to witness and I can still capture some beautiful images of your little one, the older they are the more difficult it becomes to capture the cozy, delicate newborn poses you see in my portfolio.
I have undertaken training in newborn posing and studio lighting to capture the most beautiful images for you, donβt look back and wish you took more than just some snaps with your phone. Your babyβs safety always comes first, so I recommend only using a photographer who has undergone specialist training, is aware of safely handling and posing baby and is fully vaccinated.
